MOLO is a Vancouver-based design studio, a collaboration between Stephanie Forsythe and Todd MacAllen, who are both trained as architects. Together, they produce award-winning material explorations in glass, tyvek, light, and felt. Their designs have gained international recognition, have been exhibited at various galleries and museums including the Art Institute of Chicago, and are part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

URCHIN SOFTLIGHT
A shape shifting light that provides ambient diffusion of energy efficient compact fluorescent and LED light sources. urchin has an irresistibly unique character that invites playful interaction. Its elastic movement and shifting form are akin to a sea creature, making the piece move as if alive. Made from the same translucent white textile material as cloud softlight and textile softwall + softblock, these pieces complement each other to create fluid, sculptural environments.
Material: A non-woven polyethylene material, trade name Tyvek©, it is 100% recyclable and made from 5 – 15% recycled content. Its lightweight paper look and feel is tear, UV and water resistant, making it durable to handle and maintain.

FLOAT GLASSWARE
Master glassblowers in the Czech Republic handcraft each piece of float from cylinders of pure German glass. The suspended bowl design of each piece of float creates a liquid lens, projecting a play of coloured light onto the table top. The design also performs a practical insulating function, so your hand will not warm white wine or be scalded by hot tea. When serving a cold drink, condensation will form a delicate pattern on the underbelly of the suspended bowl, alleviating the risk of wet rings on your table top.
Material: Made from the finest water-clear German borosilicate glass, this chemically inert glass is resistant to thermal shock. Feel free to pop them straight into a hot oven to bake a chocolate cake, broil French onion soup or caramelize sugar on crème brûlée.
The signature piece of the collection is made with a thermal insulating vacuum enclosed by a double glass wall, to maintain hot or cold serving temperatures.
