The company aimes “to expand the Scandinavian tradition with new and original perspectives. In face, our name Muuto, inspired by the Finnish work muutos, means new perspective… Objects made sublime through new perspectives, enjoyed across the world, representing the best of Scandinavian design today.” MUUTO has enlisted Scandinavia’s top industrial designers (and some of our faves!), including Louise Campbell, Harri Koskinen, Ole Jensen, Jakob Wagner, and JDS Architects.
CRUSHED BOWL, DESIGNED BY JDS ARCHITECTS.
Julien de Smedt on the design: “The Crushed Bowls show big-scale architecture applied on small scale objects. The bowls are composed of equilateral triangles and principles we use for big-scale computer modeling. Adding human ergonomics and aesthetics to the equation we have derived a series of vessels that are carefully crushed for everyday use”.

THE MORE THE MERRIER CANDLESTICK, DESIGNED BY LOUISE CAMPBELL
Louise Campbell on the design: “A candlestick that is everything but streamlined. As the saying goes: the more elements you join together, the merrier the result. Can be constructed in infinite ways. The design is a blend of the formal and the informal. Crystal-inspired candleholders are made of the softest matt rubber; the garland-like arms are pressed in hardwearing steel and then coated. Assembly can be conducted with a sense of meticulous symmetry, or with complete chaos, as you wish. Using 4, 7, 14, 27, 77, 189… elements, according to desire.”

FLOW JUG, DESIGNED BY JAKOB WAGNER
Jakob Wagner on the design: “With the shape of the jug I wanted to tell a straightforward story about its functional anatomy: A large hole to fill the jug, a small hole to pour, a low centre of gravity, and a middle area to get a firm grip. At the same time I wanted to create a flowing balance between these four elements in a way that makes them come together in an organic unity, like a heart and its veins or a tree and its branches. The end result almost makes the jug come alive.”
